Otter Color Picker for iPhone — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to Otter Color Picker for iPhone.
Otter Color Picker is designed with privacy in mind. Most app features operate entirely on your device. The app does not require an account, does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not upload your artwork, imported images, colors, or palettes to our servers.
Information Stored on Your Device
Otter Color Picker may store information locally on your iPhone to provide app functionality and preserve your preferences between sessions.
This may include:
App settings and preferences
Saved and recent colors
Generated palettes and shades
Image palette history
Small thumbnails associated with image palette history
Clip Studio Paint pairing information
This information remains on your device and is not uploaded to our servers.
Photos and Image Palette
Otter Color Picker allows you to select an image from your photo library to create a color palette.
When you select an image:
The image is processed directly on your iPhone.
Representative colors are extracted on your device.
The selected image is not uploaded to our servers.
A small thumbnail and the extracted palette may be stored locally as part of your recent image palette history.
Image selection uses Apple's system photo picker. Otter Color Picker receives only the image that you choose to provide to the app.
Camera and QR Code Scanning
Otter Color Picker may request access to your iPhone camera when you choose to scan a Clip Studio Paint Companion pairing QR code.
Camera access is used only for QR code scanning initiated by you.
QR code recognition is performed on your device.
You may also choose an existing QR code image instead of using the camera.
Clip Studio Paint Connection
Otter Color Picker can optionally connect to Clip Studio Paint Companion Mode over your local network.
When you choose to use this feature, Otter Color Picker may exchange information necessary for the connection, including:
Pairing information
Connection information
Color values used for synchronization
Communication occurs directly between your devices over your local network.
Otter Color Picker does not route your Clip Studio Paint color synchronization through our servers.
Pairing credentials are stored locally using Apple's Keychain services so that the app can offer reconnection without requiring you to scan a new QR code each time.
Connecting to Clip Studio Paint is optional. Otter Color Picker's core color picking and palette features can be used without a Clip Studio Paint connection.
Clip Studio Paint is a product of CELSYS, Inc. Otter Color Picker is not affiliated with or endorsed by CELSYS, Inc.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Purchases and subscriptions offered through Otter Color Picker are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit.
Otter Color Picker receives purchase and entitlement information necessary to determine whether Premium access is active.
We do not receive or store your payment card information.
Payment processing and App Store transaction information are handled by Apple according to Apple's own terms and privacy practices.
Analytics and Advertising
Otter Color Picker currently does not include:
Third-party advertising SDKs
Third-party analytics SDKs
Behavioral advertising
Cross-app tracking
We do not use your activity in Otter Color Picker to create advertising profiles.
Information We Collect
Otter Color Picker currently does not operate an app backend that collects your:
Imported images
Artwork
Saved or recent colors
Generated palettes
Image palette history
Clip Studio Paint pairing credentials
In-app activity
The app does not require you to create an account.
Support Communications
If you contact us for support, we receive the information that you choose to provide.
This may include your:
Email address
Screenshots
Device or app information
Description of the problem
We use this information only as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, investigate problems, and provide support.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your imported images, artwork, saved colors, palettes, or Clip Studio Paint pairing credentials with advertisers or data brokers.
Apple may process information when you use Apple services such as the App Store, StoreKit, or other system-provided services. Apple's processing of that information is governed by Apple's own privacy practices.
Data Retention and Deletion
Information such as app preferences, saved colors, palette history, thumbnails, and Clip Studio Paint pairing information is stored locally on your iPhone.
Local app information may remain until it is removed through available app controls, the app's data is reset where supported, or Otter Color Picker and its associated local data are removed from your device.
If you contact us for support, support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain support records, prevent abuse, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
You may contact us to request deletion of personal information that you provided directly to us through support, subject to applicable legal or operational retention requirements.
Children's Privacy
Otter Color Picker does not require user accounts and is not designed to collect personal information from children.
The app does not include behavioral advertising or social networking features.
Security
We use platform security features appropriate to the information handled by the app.
For example, Clip Studio Paint pairing credentials are stored using Apple's Keychain services.
However, no method of electronic storage or communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if Otter Color Picker's features or privacy practices change.
When this policy is updated, the revised version will include a new effective date.
